Why discriminate? It's all just radiation.

I had a thought today. We should be able to access the internet anywhere there is cell phone reception. If our cell phone can access a mobile network our computer should be able to access the internet. Blackberries can access the internet and even act as modems for computers, so computers should be able to access the internet by the same means with a little tweeking. Why so much needless discrimination against radiationb? Why spend so much money on wireless routers? And then I could just take my computer anywhere and Skype for free, sans international cell phone. That would be lovely, but I guess we would be leaping over large sections of the economy.

And a note to add to this post. A few days after writing this I found out that we can do this here in Thailand quite easily with a cable and a special phone card thingy. Go figure.
