Some pictures...

Some pictures. Not entirely representative of my experiences here, but some good glimpses into some sights glanced upon.

I sit in a fancy coffeeshop, once again sipping some beautiful coffee. Very different and distinct flavour at this place. It has a unique taste of slight burntness, but adds a lot to it. It may have burnt, but even if so it adds a cool element to the palate. And taking advantage of the free wifi. It is incredibly fast compared to other places. Not something I should get too used to as its not the norm, but its nice to have on occasion. I don't know who said that we won't have access to some things here, because that is not the case. We can get pretty much everything in Can Tho. Its pretty crazy.

I'm not feeling incredibly poetic today, so I will just put up some pictures and save eloquence, or an attempt at it, until another time.

Mark.

... ... ... ... ... ... ...

[A fancy Mansion. Beautiful, but not representative of the city in any way. There is some beautiful architecture here. Many tall and thin buildings. They used to charge store fronts by the width, so architecture took a turn for the thin and tall.]

[Some beautiful trees and bushes. Sculpted, trimmed and trained into positions and shapes.]

[Mark as a teacher. First time I have ever had a job for which I need to wear pants and a nice shirt. I am in our office. The "Expert Office" as it is called. The foreign teachers are the only teachers with an office. The other teachers do not have a place to do their work, which is very odd. It doesn't feel fair at all. Our room is also air-conditioned, worsening my feelings of guilt and inequality.]

[A road in a nice neighbourhood. Very clean here, not like anywhere else.]

[A sunset. Hidden by the city, but glimpses catch my eye as i bike home from work. Different colours in this corner of the world. Lots of orange and pinks. I love how the skies of different areas of the world celebrate the setting sun in different ways.]

[A beautiful wasp. Amazing shape of body and vibrant yellows. It took me a long time to get this shot. Wavy and sporadic motions in pursuit of seemingly disjointed flight.]
