Coffee...
Last week I tried my first cup of coffee. We were in a fancy little coffeeshop down a side street. Free wifi if I take my laptop. Its like that at all the fancy coffeeshops.
The coffee filtered at the table in little individual filters. When brewed, it was then mixed with condensed milk and poured over ice. Drunk with a straw.
It is called "ca phe sua da". "coffee milk ice". And I loved it. Its very strong (but I have no personal point of comparison), but incredibly full and deep. Just great, not an acquired taste to me at all. A pic of the glass of coffee, and my first sip of the my first full cup of coffee, ever.
Since then I have gotten coffee on occassion, as it is so good. Nate and I were with some students the other day on the open-air fifth storey of a coffeeshop that overlooks the river. A party-barge lit up to the nines was floating by and a statue of Uncle Ho was lit up on the street below us. The air was beautiful. Beautiful breeze and beautifully fresh.
So, thats that. Before I know it I will be addicted to coffee.
Keep it real,
Mark.
