Green. Green?

Hello all who have remembered that I have occasionally be known to post here,

Back in Kenya and have been for some time now. Different now. First off, there is green everywhere. We look out from the Dining Hall and the ridges that were once grey are now green. Acacia drapanilobiums actually have leaves in them. Their ant sentinels come out in full force when you casually brush against a branch, or deliberately jiggle a branch to watch them pour out of the little swollen thorns in which they live. Giraffes can delicate extend long black tongues to pluck delicate leaves and sweep up unsuspecting (suspecting?) ants.

It is the morning. And winter. Some find it quite brisk, but this cold can be ignored quite easily, so it isn't too bad at all. It only chills the skin, not the bone, and far, far from the soul.

I have not been out too much as my 'study site' is tucked behind the vehicle workshop near the dusty ruins of one 'Wole 5000: the kiln that eventually gave up'. So no pictures to post, unless you want to see me pound cowdung between rocks, or make myself so dizzy from using my lungs to stoke a cow dung fire for an hour that I can neither walk nor stand straight and my skin tingle all over.

There are many ants on this desk (as everywhere around here these days) One has an abnormally large head. I hope he is not just unfortunately mutated because then I fear for his social acceptance. He does not walk with the same vigour as the others. Bumbling around, gigantic head swinging back and forth, side to side, tracing a miniture rainbow without colour, without leprachaun.

My project is coming along...slowly. Have the first prototypes fired, and am now working on making some filters fo real. Had muchos trouble with some testing supplies, and hopefully they will be arriving in the next few days. We will see. If I was bald I would be pulling my hair out right now, or something like that. I am not very good at proverbs and old sayings.

Okay, well this is going to be short (I know, you are asking yourself 'did mark just say that? the same mark who writes marathons?'. My answer to you is yes, it is in fact one in same Mark). An abridged and unstylized short to satisfy the stalkers out there looking for adventures great and small. Emphasis on the small.

Time to go harness the green...

Peace to your senses.
